Scheduler Documentation
The Taskmatics Scheduler is a highly extensible task automation environment that facilitates the creation and administration of tasks which support the application landscape of IT organizations. The system provides a suite of built in task components that help get up and running quickly as well as an API that allows developers to create completely customizable tasks and task components that tackle business specific needs.
The Taskmatics Scheduler system is comprised of two distinct components. A Coordinator component is responsible for the configuration and dispatch of tasks, while an Agent component receives task execution orders and is responsible for the actual execution of the tasks. A complete system requires at least one of each component, however the overall topology of the system is flexible depending on organizational needs.
In the simplest case, a Coordinator and Agent component set can be installed on a single machine. When high availability and workload distribution are required, additional agent instances can easily be added to the system.
